Un terrenillo - A little terrain

Inspired by the fantastic work of José María Illa (can be seen by clicking here) and with the help of the fantastic videos of Rubén González on the Youtube channel of AK Interactive (can be seen clicking here), I have encouraged myself to build a small terrain for the model I'm making at the moment.

More or less the result resemble what I had in mind, although I still have much to practice and to try.

I would like you to give me your opinion. As always any criticism, comment, or suggestion will be very well received.

He usado piedra pómez fina blanca, ref.

In Granada (where I live in Spain), as far as I know, there is no store that sells AK Interactive products to make dioramas, so I've had to improvise a little. I have used white pumice stone, ref. 598 from Vallejo. It is a textured acrylic paste, white, that does not shrink from drying. It can be stained with acrylics or pigments. For the mud of this terrain, I have used the acrylic wash Earth Lump, ref. 76,521 also from Vallejo and the pigment Russian Earth from Ammo by Mig Jiménez, ref. 3014.

The paste is very easy to apply and takes a couple of hours to dry, so you can correct the texture with sponge and an old brush with hard bristles without hurry, until it stays as you want.

To simulate rock outcrops, I have used gravel of different sizes, which I have painted with Vallejo Model Air acrylics. I do not like much to use these paintings with the airbrush, but they are ideal to make transparent washes to the stones until achieving the tone that I like. The dry plants, are dry grasses collected in my walks in bike.

Un abrazo.

Fran.

Bye.
