Hay veces que una sola fotografía captura la atención del modelista hasta el punto de abandonar otros proyectos para dedicar todas las energías a reproducirla. A mi me ha ocurrido con la fotografía de portada del libro de la editorial Desert Eagle dedicado al Merkava siman II.

Sometimes a single photograph captures the attention of the modeler to the point of abandoning other projects to devote all the energy to reproduce it. It happened to me with the cover photograph of the book of the editorial Desert Eagle devoted to the Merkava siman II.

En esta foto, puede verse a un Merkava II llenito de polvo. Justo como a mí me gustan. Así que no lo pensé dos veces, rescaté del trastero el viejo kit de Academy y me puse manos a la obra. He terminado las fases básicas de pintura y la maqueta está lista para el weathering. La idea es reproducir ese aspecto super lleno de polvo que puede verse en la fotografía. A ver qué tal sale.

In this photo, you can see a Merkava II filled with dust. Just like I like them. So I did not think twice, I rescued the old Academy kit from the storage room and got down to work. I have finished the basic phases of painting and the model is ready for weathering. The idea is to reproduce that super dusty look that can be seen in the photograph. Let's see how it works.
