M60 paso a paso (III) - M60 step by step (III)

Etapa tercera

La tercera etapa consta de tres pasos:

1. Lavados. Con el producto P220 dark wash de Mig Productions, diluido con su disolvente específico, P239 thinner for washes. Se aplica en recovecos y detalles. Es muy importante proceder por zonas no todo el carro a la vez y dejar secar bien el lavado antes de empezar a retirarlo (al menos 30 minutos).
   Si la superficie del carro es brillante, el lavado es muy fácil de controlar. Y si el barniz es acrílico, el disolvente no le afecta y se puede trabajar sin miedo.
2. Pintar detalles. Con acrílicos Vallejo y pincel fino. Se pintan los detalles que faltan como por ejemplo los escapes o bidones.
3. Barniz mate. Con XF-89 Flat Clear acrílico de Tamiya disuelto en X-20A al 50%, aplicado con aerógrafo con una presión de aire de 1.25 Kg. Hay que dar varias manos finas hasta conseguir un aspecto semi satinado, no completamente mate.
   Es muy importante que el barniz sea acrílico, ya que en la etapa final se aplican óleos y el disolvente white spirit podría afectar a un barniz esmalte.

Stage third

The third stage consists of three steps:

1. Pin washes. With the product P220 dark wash from Mig Productions, diluted with P239 thinner for washes. It applies in nooks and details. Again it is important to proceed by parts, not all the model at once, and allow to dry thoroughly before you start washing it out (at least 30 minutes).
   If the surface is bright, washing is very easy to control. And if the varnish is acrylic, the thinner does not affect it and you can work without fear.
2. Painting details. With Vallejo acrylics and a fine brush. They paint the remaining details such as the exhaust pipes or jerrycans.
3. Matt varnish. With Tamiya acrylic XF-89 Flat Clear thinned with X-20A in a ratio of 50%, applied with an airbrush and an air pressure of 1.25 kg. Is important to apply several thin coats to get a semi gloss aspect, not completely matte.
   It is very important that the lacquer be acrylic because in the final stage are applied oils and thinner could affect an acrylic varnish.
